Page Title

The Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce prides itself on its accomplishments, which represent the initiatives that have been identified as integral to the successful growth of the community, its businesses and its people.

Mary Cohron, 2007 Chairperson of the Chamber's Board of Directors, sums up the year's accomplishments by saying, "When I stepped into this leadership role in January 2007, I knew our board of directors, Chamber partners and Chamber staff had set us up for a banner years. But what I didn't realize was just how successful the year would really be!"

2007 truly was a banner year for the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce. Working under the theme of "Strong Partners. Powerful Solutions." the Chamber celebrated the following

  • The dedication of our new 17,460-square-foot, state-of-the-art headquarters at 710 College Street. Nearly 200 Chamber partners committed to contributing more than $3 million to build the Chamber's 21st Century home, almost twice the campaign goal.
  • Fourteen new and expanded industries, creating 1,602 new jobs and an investment of nearly $77 million.
  • With 320 new partners recruited during the year, the Chamber doubled the annual recruitment rate it traditionally sees. As of December 31, 2007, 1,316 businesses and individuals were partners with the Chamber.

These aren't the only accomplishments for the year. In addition to these outstanding victories is a long list of successful programs, initiatives and partner benefits that impact business and our economy. Read on to learn more about our accomplishments in the following areas:
