We take our relationships with our state and federal legislative delegations seriously. It's our top priority to advocate for the business-friendly legislation that allows your company to grow and prosper.
The Legislative Action Committee is available to Chamber partners interested in being more involved in the legislative process. This committee formulates the Chamber's policy agenda, organizes legislative forums to educate the partnership and coordinates grassroots efforts including calls to action and legislative alerts.
Legislative forums and updates
The Legislative Action Committee coordinates legislative forums and updates to educate the Chamber partnership on happenings in the legislative world.
Several legislative forums are held throughout the year and vary in topic. Some are election forums to educate the public on candidates running for office. Other forums are dedicated to topics such as health care or personnel issues.
Legislative updates are held at the end of each state legislative session and allow attendees to hear about issues and bills that will affect South Central Kentucky. Attendees also have the opportunity to ask the legislators unscripted questions.

South Central Kentucky Night
This legislative reception is in Frankfort, our capital city. It's a fun and relaxing way to bring a bit of South Central Kentucky hospitality to our legislators as they work through the long 60-day, biannual session. All Kentucky legislative delegates are invited to attend, along with South Central Kentucky regional partners.
South Central Kentucky Night gives our regional partners a chance to meet one-on-one with our state legislators. Attendees can talk politics or simply get to know their legislators while enjoying food, drinks and often live entertainment.
South Central Kentucky Washington, D.C. Fly-in
The South Central Kentucky Washington, D.C. Fly-in is a biennial event in June in which partners travel to our nation's capital to meet with senators and congressmen. This three-day, two-night trip consists of meetings with Kentucky's congressional delegation and Cabinet secretaries.
Hotel accommodations, meal and travel arrangements – once in Washington, D.C. – are coordinated for each attendee. Participants meet with our nation's policy makers and share their ideas and needs for South Central Kentucky.
