The Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce was honored recently with four Excellence Awards by the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Executives during their annual Spring Conference in Frankfort.

Awards received include:

·         Outstanding Membership Retention for 2013

·         Outstanding Membership Growth for 2013

·         Outstanding Special Event for our FranklinCovey/The Leader In Me Dinner

·         Outstanding Publication for our “Business Grows Here” brochure

The Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Executives (KCCE) was established in 1965 and serves as the society for chamber of commerce professionals in the state. The KCCE Excellence Awards were created to recognize superior achievement and professional excellence among local chambers of commerce throughout Kentucky.

“We are honored to be recognized by our colleagues through the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Executives.” stated Ron Bunch, President and CEO. “Here at the Bowling Green Chamber, we have an extraordinary team of partners and staff that work together on a daily basis to provide value to the South Central Kentucky community.  I would like to thank all of our partners for their dedication to making this community an award winning place to live, work, and play.”

The awards compliment a record-setting year in economic development for the region. In 2013, South Central Kentucky experienced a capital investment of more than $240 million and the creation of over 380 new jobs. One of those announcements, the Bilstein Group, was the largest capital investment announcement in Kentucky in 2013.

“Bowling Green and Warren County experience success because of the collaboration that exists in this community,” stated Judge Executive Michael Buchanon. “When you add the partnerships that take place between organizations like the Chamber with local and regional elected officials to the benefits that our region has to offer, there really is no better place to do business.”

According to Vice President for Partnership Services Tonya Matthews, “Our team has historically provided award-winning programming. In 2011, the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce was honored with five KCCE Excellence Awards, including 3 for Excellence in Communications and one each for Membership Retention and Best Special Event.”
