Bowling Green, Ky. (January 23, 2015) - Bluegrass Supply Chain Services, a third party logistics provider headquartered in Bowling Green today announce their intention to combine three existing locations into one centralized corporate office and warehouse, providing an additional 160,000 square feet of space. This expansion will bring a total investment of $5.185 million and 55 new jobs to the region.

Founded in 2002 in Western Kentucky University's Small Business Accelerator, Bluegrass Supply Chain Services has now grown to 625 employees and retains its headquarters here in Bowling Green. The company began as a part-time consulting operation with two associates and has since grown into a multi-million dollar supply chain services company that operates 3 divisions in four states. The company moved operations out of the Accelerator into private space in 2008 and continues to expand.
In the last 3 years, Bluegrass Supply Chain Services has seen a revenue growth of over 223%. In 2014, the company was ranked in top 2,000 of the Inc. 5,000 List of Fastest Growing Private Companies in America by Inc. Magazine. In 2013 and 2014, Bluegrass Supply Chain Services was awarded the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce's Expansion Award at the annual Business and Industry Appreciation Banquet for their continued growth and contribution to the South Central Kentucky economy.
In addition to their outstanding contribution to the South Central Kentucky economy, Bluegrass Supply Chain Services is also active in the educational community, sponsoring the 2014 Kentucky FIRST LEGO League's State Robotics Competition and offering shadowing and mentoring opportunities to students of the Gordon Ford College of Business.

This is the first economic development announcement in 2015 for the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce, following a banner year in 2014 with a total capital investment of more than $210 million in capital investment and the creation of over 660 new jobs.
