The Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce was honored last night with four Excellence Awards by the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Executives during its annual Spring Conference in Frankfort.

Awards received include:

  • Outstanding Publication
  • Outstanding Website
  • Outstanding Special Event
  • Outstanding Member Retention

The KCCE, established in 1965, serves as the society for chamber of commerce professionals in the state. The KCCE Excellence Awards were created to recognize superior achievement and professional excellence among local chambers of commerce throughout Kentucky.

“We are honored today to be recognized by our Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Executives colleagues,” Ron Bunch, Chamber president and CEO, said. “We have an extraordinary team at the Bowling Green Area Chamber that is focused on continuing to grow and provide value to our community. In addition to our team, I want to thank all of our Chamber partners for their commitment to making this community an amazing place to live, work and play.”

The awards complement a phenomenal year in economic development for the region. In 2015, South Central Kentucky experienced a capital investment of $943 million and the creation of over 1,000 new jobs.  In addition, Warren County had 2 of the top 5 projects for capital investment in the state in 2015, with the expansions of Bowling Green Metalforming and General Motors.

“Our team consistently provides award-winning programming and services. In 2015, the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce was honored with three KCCE Excellence Awards, including two for Excellence in Communications and one for Membership Retention. We are so proud to once again be selected for our outstanding work in communications and membership services,” Vice President of Partnership Services Tonya Matthews said.

Other recent awards include:

  • A CiCi Award from Trade and Industry Development magazine celebrating the General Motors expansion;
  • Among metropolitan areas with populations less than 200,000, the city of Bowling Green ranked 2nd on Site Selection Magazine’s Top 10 Metro Areas for New and Expanded Facilities in 2015. This is Bowling Green’s 3rd consecutive year on this list, steadily climbing from 6th in 2013, 4th last year to 2nd this year.
