Bowling Green, Ky. (September 26, 2019) – Today, the Bowling Green Young Professionals (BGYP) host their first ever Young Professional Leadership Summit sponsored by Fruit of the Loom and Logan Aluminum, Inc. The inaugural event, titled Fuel Your Future, will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Knicely Conference Center. Over 100 young professionals from around the area, between the ages of 21 and 40, are expected to attend.
BGYP is a Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce initiative with the mission to attract, retain and connect young talent in the community by engaging and empowering the next generation of business and community leaders to actively shape the Bowling Green area. Membership has grown to 150 members that are able to take advantage of monthly networking and professional development opportunities, along with civic engagements.
“Young professionals are an important demographic in our workforce and community, said Ron Bunch, President & CEO of the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce. “It is critical that we do everything we can to engage and retain them in South Central Kentucky.”
The event will feature two keynote speakers including Leah Brown, with Crescendo Strategies, and Travis Keller, with Independence Bank. In addition, there will be 6 breakout sessions and a panel discussion on topics of entrepreneurial mindset, leadership, personal branding and using your strengths to be successful.
“Today’s event is about inspiring young professionals of South Central Kentucky to take positive steps in their professional development, by giving them the tools and guidance they need to succeed,” said VP Partnership Services Maureen Carpenter. “This event would not have been possible without our BGYP committees, sponsors, speakers, and local vendors who stepped up to make today a success.
