The 2008 LBG Class during Retreat I at Camp Loucon |
Leadership Bowling Green is an eight-month leadership development program. Applications are made available each year in January. The program, which is made up of a class of 25-30 individuals, involves nine sessions during which the class studies the community's strengths and challenges through lectures, discussions, tours and role-playing activities. Once individuals graduate from the program, they are encouraged to join Leadership Bowling Green Alumni Association (LBGAA).
Keri Gies, United Way of Southern Kentucky vice president, resource development and 2007 Leadership Bowling Green class president, says of the program:
"I had a great experience participating in the Leadership Bowling Green program. Not only did I learn an impressive amount of information about many aspects of our city, I also gained leadership skills and increased my network of business contacts, and I made many new friends. As a class, we became very close, and I wouldn't trade my experience for anything."
The application period for the 2008 Leadership Bowling Green program is now closed.
