Residents who sustained losses can apply for assistance in one of the following ways:

  1. Register ONLINE at disasterassistance.gov
  2. CALL 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or TTY 1-800-462-7585  (for deaf or hard-of-hearing Kentuckians); The toll-free telephone numbers will operate from 7 AM to 10 PM (local time) seven days a week until further notice.

What you need when you apply:

• A current phone number where you can be contacted
• Your address at the time of the disaster and the address where you are staying now
• Your Social Security Number
• A general list of damage and loses
• Banking information if you choose direct deposit
• If insured, the policy number or the agent and/or the company name
• You must submit a claim to your insurance company before requesting federal aid
