BOWLING GREEN, KY., March 2, 2023 – Bowling Green has been recognized again as one of the nation’s top areas for attracting corporate facility investment. The ranking is based on the number of projects won, and Bowling Green ranked second in total projects for metros among communities with populations less than 200,000 and ranked fourth in projects per capita. This is the tenth consecutive year for Bowling Green to be ranked as a top tier-2 metropolitan area in the United States.
The ranking evaluates communities on their ability to attract investment based primarily on a 10-factor index using Site Selection publisher Conway Data, Inc’s database of new and expanded project announcements. Four Kentucky locations were selected in the rankings, with Bowling Green as the highest-ranking Kentucky community. Bowling Green is the only Kentucky community ranked for ten consecutive years.

Envision AESC was awarded the CiCi Award for Corporate Investment in recognition of their $2 billion commitment to construct a cutting-edge gigafactory for manufacturing electric vehicle batteries in Bowling Green, which is anticipated to generate 2,000 high-skilled employment opportunities in the area.
Our wonderful community has received recognition from numerous print and online publications in the past including TIME.com, Forbes, National Geographic magazine, and Global Trade magazine which ranked Bowling Green as the second-best city in the United States for manufacturing. Year to date, the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce has announced its economic development projects in South Central Kentucky, totaling $8.1 million in capital investment creating 36 new jobs in the region.
