Below is a list of resources for any persons or businesses who are in need or wishing to help at this time. This information is fluid and will be updated daily, so please check back often to ensure you are getting the most up-to-date information.

The Small Business Administration Technical Assistance Team is set up and operational at the WKU Center for Research and Development.  Impacted small businesses can go there for assistance.  (2413 Nashville Rd).

South Central Workforce Development Board -  The SCWDB is working closely with the Kentucky Labor Cabinet and US Department of Labor to secure additional resources for disaster-related unemployment insurance and technical training /re-skilling. Businesses click here to complete the form.

United Way of SCK Tornado Crisis and Recovery Fund. 100% of all contributions go back to organizations on the front line serving immediate and long-term needs. www.UWSK.org

Warren County Public Schools Disaster Relief Fund for Families:

In-Person: You can also go to any Independence Bank branch to donate to WCPS Disaster Relief Fund.

Help & Assistance

Crisis Counseling:  National Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) provides 24/7, 365-day crisis counseling for emotional distress related to the disaster. Toll-free, multilingual, and confidential at 1-800-985-5990.

Debris Removal:  City & County have contracted with Crowder Gulf to remove debris. Do not remove or pay for your debris to be removed per FEMA guidelines. Contractors will make multiple runs so please continue to push debris to the curb after each pickup. Call 211 or 270-393-4116 for help or questions. Note: This is a 30 days contract. Call the Debris Hotline 270-296-1383 if you have debris sorted and ready for pick up.

All debris should be placed on curbside and separated into piles of:

  • Appliances & White Goods (Air Conditioners, Dishwashers, Freezers, Refrigerators, Stoves, Washers, Dryers, and Water Heaters)
  • Vegetative Debris (Leaves not in bags, Logs, Plants, Tree Branches)
  • Construction & Demolition Debris (Building materials, Carpet, Drywall, Furniture, Lumber, Mattresses, Plumbing)

Normal Household Trash should be bagged and trashed following normal garbage removal protocols. Bagged trash cannot be picked up with disaster debris.

Shelter

If you are in need of assistance in finding a place to stay, please call 571-459-8041 or 211.  They will need to know the names, ages, # of rooms, whether you have pets, any special needs, your prior address, and a current phone number.

Volunteer Efforts

The City of Bowling Green and Warren County Government are working to coordinate all volunteer efforts through one office. If you need volunteers for your organization, please call 270.393.4116.

Red: Immediate danger and uninhabitable contact insurance and contractor.

Yellow: Inhabitable. Contact insurance and contractor.

Green: Safe to move back in.

 

FEMA Fraud: Please ask for credentials before sharing information with anyone. Individuals are visiting homes in town pretending to be FEMA.
